This color woodcut by Gustave Baumann was published in the Colophon v. 12. It is frequently removed from the book, but this print is in an intact volume. While Baumann's multiple color woodblocks dazzle with their intensity and artistry, the true artist emerges when working within a limited spectrum of color. Baumann captures the mystical nature of the ceremony with an effective use of light and shadow. It is initialed and monogramed in the print.
