Original etching by Edouard Manet, a portrait of the poet and art critic Charles Baudelaire, described by Manet in 1869 as "a portrait of Baudelaire in outdoor clothes, wearing a hat". Signed with the artist's monogrammed initials in the plate, top left. This etching is thought to have been made in 1862, five years before Baudelaire's death.
