This work is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Jacques Villon" at the lower right margin.
It is hand numbered "106/150" in pencil in the lower left margin.
The etching was first engraved in 1931 and printed in 2 small editions of 10 proofs and 20 proofs.
In 1960, Villon reworked the plate and created the third and last state that was issued with the book edited by Pierre Caillet "Les Caricatures de Jacques Villon" in a limited edition of 150 hand signed and numbered impressions.
Ginestet and Pouillon mistakenly list the edition of the third state as 50 impressions.
