Original etching by Edmond François Aman-Jean, signed by the artist. Pencil-signed etchings by Aman-Jean are very scarce. This is one of about 20 signed copies on Japan paper for one of the special copies of the Revue de l'Art ancien et moderne. These exemplaires nominatifs were printed for the Revue’s Comité de Rédaction (6 members, including Dezarrois and Bénédite) and Comité de Patronage (8 members). They contained the original graphics in two states, the first signed by the artist and printed on superior paper. This comes from copy XI, printed for Monsieur le Vicomte G. de Fontarce.
