Biography

Karel Appel was born in 1921 in Amsterdam. Appel studied at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten and his first one man show was held in the Netherlands in 1946.
Karel Appel was a founding member of the Cobra Group along with Cornielle and others. His has exhibited worldwide and his work is an all major collection of Modern art.
Karel Appel lives and works in New York.
